The early morning hours of Friday, March 20, 1998, brought tragedy to North Hall and White counties.
Without any real warning, many lives and the very landscape were changed forever when an F2 tornado — that grew in strength to an F3 with winds up to 206 mph — slashed a deadly path across the region. The chaos left in its wake included some $15 million in damage, 12 people killed, more than 100 people injured, 77 homes destroyed and two schools battered.
