Senior Jenilee Gaddis and her mother, Jun Gaddis, fill out college applications at East Hall High School earlier last week. Leigh Cumiskey and Clarence Jones, counselors from East Hall High School, provided college application assistance to 80 seniors for Apply To College Week. Representatives from Georgia Student Finance Committee, Gainesville State College, Brenau College, Georgia Gwinnett College were on hand along with parent volunteers to guide the students.

Ronald Trotman was chosen recipient of the 2010 Outstanding TMC Alumnus Award by the Truett-McConnell College Alumni Association Executive Committee.

Trotman has been a longtime supporter of the college with financial and service contributions. He is also a past president of the Alumni Association and continues to serve currently on the Alumni Executive Committee.

A retired U.S. Air Force colonel, he has owned and operated an insurance agency.

 Mitch Johnson from Flowery Branch was voted homecoming king at Truett-McConnell College at its Nov. 9 varsity basketball game.

Johnson, a senior Christian Studies major, is the son of Skip Johnson and Vikki Hardin. He is a high school minister at North Metro First Baptist Church, the Ministerial Association Vice-President and is involved in intramurals.

Bailey Tomesello from McDonough was chosen homecoming queen. Other students named to the Homecoming Court included Hanna Barnes, Bailey Dollar, Brooke Furr, Ben Garrison, Chelsea Godwin, Claude Goodjion, Mitch Johnson, Meredith Jolly, Jared Marsh, Hartwell, Jesse Norton, Kristen Pruitt, Meghan Puckett, Chris Rich, Ross Roberts and Zack Smith.

The Gainesville High School Theater won the Region 8-AAA One Act Play Title recently with its performance of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."

Nick Boleman portraying "Barfee" was named Best Supporting Actor and Isaac Hopkins as "VP Panch" and Joel May as "Chip" were named to the All Star Cast. Julia Lackey is the musical director and Pam Ware is the director of the group.
