Walt Snelling was recognized by his classmates, the Gainesville High School Class of 1955, at their 55th reunion on Oct. 23, at the Chattahoochee Country Club. Snelling has been the "Voice of the Red Elephants" for three decades. Johnny Vardeman, a long time friend of the class as well as of Snelling, presented the trophy with the assistance of Kay Reed Scoville. The Class of ’55 is happy to honor one of its own. The trophy will ultimately be placed in the trophy case at Gainesville High School where it can be noted by the students who know and recognize "the Voice of the Red Elephants."

The lawyers and staff at Coleman & Chambers, LLP, lawyers in Gainesville are proud to have raised more than $800 to benefit Eagle Ranch.

Serving as this year’s president of the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association, Bob Coleman said that each employee and attorney pledged $20 to wear a costume and the law firm matched the total.

"Our careers involve dealing with very serious, often personal issues such as divorce, personal injury and business losses. This day is intended to lighten the mood and so far, our clients have appreciated the fun," said Coleman.
