After a scoreless first half, the offenses exploded for seven scores combined on Friday as Commerce fell to Athens Academy 28-21 in Athens.
Cody Streetman had 165 yards and a touchdown on 34 carries while going 5-for-8 for 99 yards passing with one interception and one touchdown. Jessie Savage had the other touchdown on the night for Commerce, a 20-yard run.
On defense, Sergio Rojas nine tackles and Josh Swistak added eight for Commerce (3-3, 2-1 Region 8-A).
With the loss, Commerce falls behind Athens Academy (6-1, 3-1) for the region lead. The Tigers will play host to region foe Prince Avenue Academy at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
