Authorities have identified the security guard who was shot and killed Sunday night at a Cumming grocery store as a 37-year-old Winder man.

Karleen Chalker, spokeswoman for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, said David Casto was employed by Executive Security Services of Atlanta, which provided security at the Ingles on Canton Road.

She said the store is closed today as the investigation continues into the incident, which authorities think may be related to other recent armed robberies in the area.

“We’ve had full force investigators and crime scene techs working ever since they were called last night,” Chalker said.
