The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County recently honored members of its board for their years of service to the organization.
Phillip Sartain received the Board Service Award for his 10 years of service and for his leadership as a board member. The following board members also received Board Service Awards for serving five or more years (but less than 10): Haydee Anderson, Larry Baldwin, Merrianne Dyer, Cooper Embry, Michele Piucci, Brad Puryear, Kiesha Storey and Dan White.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County provides more than 4,000 children and teens a safe place to go, ongoing relationships with caring adults and life-enhancing programs and experiences that build character and leadership.



Georgia Farm Bureau and its county offices recently donated $16,000 to the Peanut Butter for Haiti project. Peanut Butter for Haiti is delivering peanut butter and peanut products to citizens of Haiti affected by the January earthquake. The donation will purchase 17,777 pounds of peanut butter, which equals 248,888 servings.
As of Feb. 8, the project had shipped six truckloads or about 204,000 pounds of peanut butter to the Caribbean nation. Relief organizations including Operation Blessing, Food for the Poor, Feed the Children and Catholic Relief Services are distributing the peanut butter in Haiti.
