Two people were treated for minor smoke inhalation Wednesday after escaping a fire that destroyed their house in North Hall.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said the house in the 5100 block of Bird Road off Ga. 60 near Murrayville was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters responded at about 1:45 p.m. The occupants were already out of the house when fire trucks arrived.

The fire at the wooden frame, single-story house was called in by a neighbor, Kimbrell said. The house, valued at $120,000, was a total loss, he said.

Kimbrell said there were no serious injuries in the fire. The occupants were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where they were expected to be treated and released, he said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
