Jordan Chastain rifled in a 20-yard pass to Jackson Wells to open the scoring in the first quarter of the game, but Lakeview was unable to find the end zone again in a 28-7 loss to Athens Academy on Friday in Gainesville.
“We competed probably the best we have. I know the scoreboard doesn’t show it, but we just keep improving,” said coach Matthew Gruhn of his fledgling program.”We are definitley a better football team now then we were at the beginning of the season.”
The Lions (1-7, 0-4 Region 8-A) visit Athens Christian at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at Eagle Field.
