Aikens breaks school record

Brittany Aikens took first place honors individually, and broke a school record with a 19 minute and 15 second finish, to lead the Jackson County girls’ cross country team against Riverside Military Academy on Saturday in Gainesville.

Sydney Baird finished third overall with a time of 21:19 for the Lady Panthers.

Jackson County’s Tyler Ledford led the boys’ team and finished in 18:53.

Thomas Carroll finished in 19:34 for the Panthers and was followed by Dragos Teodor who finished third, John Florentine who finished fourth and David Serna who was fifth.

The Panthers visit Athens Christian for a Region 8-AAA meet Thursday.
