Three Hall County students recently placed first in the state with their demonstration projects at the recent Stage 4-H Congress in Atlanta.

Corey O'Quinn, son of Rick and Beverly O'Quinn, won first in the Communications Project at the State 4-H Congress competition with his demonstration, "How to Build a Better Web site."

O'Quinn has been a Hall County 4-H member for eight years and recently graduated from Flowery Branch High School.

David French, son of Robert and Cindy French, also was named among the top in the state in the History Project category. French presented a demonstration on use of musicians in the military, especially during the Civil War. French is a 10th-grader at Flowery Branch High School and a five-year 4-H member.

In addition, Jenny Sheppard, daughter of Randy and Pat Sheppard, competed at State Congress in the Human Development Project.

Jenny's speech about teen domestic violence placed first in the state of Georgia. Jenny is a junior at West Hall High School and an eight-year 4-H member.

Ruth Alligood, 4-H program assistant, and Judy Tilford, 4-H county agent, attended State 4-H Congress with the 4-H members.
