Local juniors win AJGA event at Royal Lakes

The Atlanta Junior Golf Association held an event for boys ages 7-18 on Monday Royal Lakes Golf Course in Flowery Branch.

Local first-place finishers were Drake Mayhew of Buford in the 18-Hole club 15-18 division, Pep Brown of Gainesville in the 18-hole open 13-14 year olds, Nathan Williams of Gainesville in the 18-hole 12-and-under, Kason Bloom in the 9-hole open 13-and-under division and Anthony Whobrey of Jefferson in the 9-hole open 12-and under group.

Other top finishers were Joseph Matthews of Gainesville (second, 18-hole open 15-18), Ross Ward of Gainesville (fourth, 18-hole open 15-18), Alex Gossett of Flowery Branch (second, 18-hole club 15-18), Luke James of Flowery Branch (fourth, 18-hole club, 15-18), Keller Syfan of Gainesville (fourth, 18-hole club, 15-18), Hunter Young of Gainesville (fourth, 18-hole club, 13-14) and Spencer Ralston of Gainesville (fourth, 18-hole, 12-and under).

The Atlanta Junior Golf Association plays 80 events in 29 different counties throughout the year. A complete schedule is available at www.atlantajuniorgolf.org.
