The gentle thud of sneakers on pavement could be heard all over Hall County on Saturday as hundreds of local residents turned out on a muggy afternoon to help raise money at three charity events.

The annual March for Babies, also known as WalkAmerica, took participants down a four-mile (5-kilometer) course to benefit the March of Dimes.

The School Tools and Office Pro 5K run raised money for survivors of vehicle accidents. Among the participants was Johnson High assistant principal Mike Adcock, who lost a leg in an accident last year.

And the Rally for the Cure Tennis Clinic at the Brenau Tennis Center drew 100 players in a fundraiser for cancer research through the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
