POSTED: March 23, 2009 11:40 p.m.

Approximately 100 homes in the area of Hardy Road will lose water service between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today.

The Gainesville Public Utilities Department will turn off the water while it replaces an old, leaking fire hydrant and installs a new water valve, according to a news release.

The work will take place on Hardy Road between Nancy Creek Road and Sundown Drive. Other affected areas include Timber Walk Drive, Beaver Creek Road, Teal Landing Road, Pintail Circle, Hardy Place, Sundown Drive and Wind Drift Circle.

For more information call Joey Leverette, manager of the department’s distribution and collection division, at 770-535-6881.
