Prep playoff preview: Bowdon at Jefferson

Previewing tonight's Bowdon/Jefferson playoff game: 

When: 7:30 tonight

Where: Jefferson Memorial Stadium

Directions: From Gainesville, take Ga. Hwy. 129 south toward Athens. Turn left onto Old Swimming Pool Road, and Jefferson Memorial Stadium is on the right.

Records: Jefferson (7-3, No. 2 Region 8-A); Bowdon (3-7, No. 3 6-A)

Coaches: Jefferson, Bill Navas; Bowdon, Dwight Hochstetler

Key players: Jefferson, QB Josh Bohanan (5-10, 180 Sr.); RB Zack Crosby (5-8, 170 Sr.); RB Tyler Hill (5-11, 205 Sr.). RB Lopez Nunn (5-10, 230 Sr.); RB Gregory Wilkerson (6-3, 225 Jr.); QB Antwone Jones (5-10, 160 Jr.).

Outlook: This is Jefferson’s eighth straight appearance in the playoffs. The Dragons haven’t advanced past the first round since 1987.

The Dragons are led offensively by two-year starter Josh Bohanan. The senior quarterback has passed for 1,426 yards and 12 touchdowns (66 percent passing).

Tyler Hill, a senior, leads the Dragons on the ground with 986 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.Bohanan’s go-to guy is athlete Zack Crosby with 42 receptions for 552 yards and two touchdowns and 300 rushing yards with seven touchdowns.

Prediction: JEFFERSON. Playing at home will be a huge advantage for the Dragons. Look for Jefferson to win big in front of the Dragon faithful.
