A 3,500-square-foot Fazoli's restaurant, a 4,800-square-foot restaurant and a 7,000-square-foot retail building are part of plans for a proposed New Holland Crossing at the corner of White Sulphur Road and Jesse Jewell Parkway.

Fazoli’s could be coming back to Hall County. An annexation proposal to make way for the Italian fast-food restaurant is set to go before the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board next month.

A 3,500-square-foot Fazoli’s would be part of a proposed New Holland Crossing at the corner of White Sulphur Road and Jesse Jewell Parkway, with plans also calling for a 4,800-square-foot restaurant and 7,000-square-foot retail building.

Keel Property Management LLC is the applicant for the project seeking to annex 6.32 acres of woods in unincorporated Hall into the city of Gainesville with a zoning of general business. It is currently zoned for agricultural residential and highway business in the county.

According to the application, “service businesses” are part of the uses planned for New Holland Crossing. It also states that access to the new businesses would be off White Sulphur Road “due to the topography of the property.”

The proposal would add to an already bustling area, building right beside the New Holland Market shopping center anchored by Kroger that has added a Senor Fiesta and Taco Bell in recent years and will see a Chick-fil-A open in July. Across Jesse Jewell Parkway are Arby’s, Huddle House and Cricket Wireless, all of which have opened since December.

A Fazoli’s was previously located at 821 Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville before closing. The restaurant’s website says there are about 217 Fazoli’s locations in 26 states. The first Fazoli’s opened in Lexington, Ky., in 1988.
