Man hurt in alleged DUI crash no longer in critical condition

POSTED: March 20, 2017 6:42 p.m.

A man hospitalized last week following a single-vehicle crash on Ga. 60/Thompson Bridge Road is no longer in critical condition.

A spokesperson for Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Monday said Taylor Palmer’s condition was satisfactory.

Palmer and two children were passengers in a car that crashed Friday night.

Gainesville Police charged Johnathan Taylor of Dahlonega, with DUI, reckless driving and other charges in the wreck in which the vehicle rolled over several times.

The children ages 5 months and 15 months also were treated for injuries and released.

Police arrested Taylor after he was treated at the hospital and released. He remained at the Hall County Jail on Monday.

Taylor also has been charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license, expired tag, serious injury by motor vehicle and other traffic violations.

Police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the crash remains under investigation. Holbrook told The Times on Monday that alcohol is believed to be the leading contributor to the crash.
