High school scoreboard: West Hall boys open season with win

The West Hall High basketball team opened its regular season with a 92-66 win against Jackson County on Thursday in Oakwood.

Shunquez Stephens led the Spartans (1-0) with 18 points. Terrell Penland and Kavon Williams had 14 points, and Willie Morales added 11 points.

Jay Smith led the Panthers (0-1) with 34 points.

West Hall opens the East Jackson Tournament against Pace Academy at 11 a.m. Saturday. Jackson County will play host to a tip-off tournament at 8:30 p.m. Monday against Oglethorpe County, Banks County and Tallulah Falls

Ashley Skelton led the Panthers with 22 points and Brianna Drew added 11 points for Jackson County (1-0) on Thursday night in Oakwood.

Jayla Moon led West Hall (0-1) with 15 points. Bailey Soucie added seven points for the Lady Spartans.

Jackson County will play host to a tip-off tournament at 4 p.m. Monday against Oglethorpe County, Banks County and Tallulah Falls. West Hall opens the East Jackson Tournament against Pace Academy at 10 a.m. Saturday.
