Community members enjoyed sunny skies and live music Saturday, all with the intent to end homelessness in the county.

Hosted by Family Promise of Hall County and Flowery Branch United Methodist Church, the Stepping Out for Stepping Stones benefit concert featured multiple Christian-based music performances to raise funds for the Stepping Stones Transitional House, located in downtown Flowery Branch near the church.

Once refurbished, Family Promise will use the home as a transitional place for a family graduating from the program, which offers counseling and support to the homeless.

People stretched out in the large green space near the railroad tracks in Flowery Branch Saturday while listening to the tunes; food and beverages were also for sale.

“We thank everybody who’s come to be a part of this, and all who are coming,” said Ed Dickens, senior pastor at the church. “We are praying for a great turnout, so we can overcome homelessness one family at a time.”
