Gainesville artist group displays its soul

From classical paintings to sculptures, the Gainesville group of artists known as the Blue Angel Studio will display its soul.

Artists will lay their work bare for all to see from Aug. 1-23 at the Bowen Center for the Arts in Dawsonville. More than 60 pieces will be for sale.

The exhibit will kick off with a free reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at 334 Ga. 9 North in Dawsonville. The arts center is one-tenth of a mile north of the Ga. 9 and 53 intersection. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Following the reception, gallery guests may enjoy Moonlight & Music with the sounds of Sawnee Big Band from Cumming. Admission is $5 with donations going to the band. Patrons may bring a picnic basket.

Artist participants include Ann Alexander, Judy Black, Mary Brady, Pris Butler, Gene Coker, Rosemary Dodd, Sharon Farkas, Ann Goble, Jane Hemmer, Lynn Kelly, Alice Ann Mundy, Sherry Maloney, Lynda Stewart and Bob White.
