A Gainesville man died after he was struck late Friday by a car as he walked across Browns Bridge Road.
Johnny A. Phillips walked in front of the Honda Accord driven by Tan Duy La of Gainesville.
He was not in a crosswalk when the accident occurred at 9:14 p.m. near Skelton Road, said Gainesville police Lt. Floyd Canup.
Phillips was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
The Honda driver and one passenger suffered minor injuries in the accident, Canup said, adding that police will not charge the driver.
