Following the special called meeting, council will hold a work session to discuss, among other things, an alcoholic beverage license for Taqueria El Camarada on Cleveland Highway; a public safety grant for the city fire department; and a proposed all-way stop sign for the intersection of Club and East Lake drives.

The City Council meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday in room 301 of the administration building, 300 Henry Ward Way.

Hall County to vote on budget Thursday

The Hall County Board of Commissioners will vote Thursday on a 2015 fiscal year budget.

A public hearing will be held before the vote.

In other business, the board will vote on a nearly $260,000 contract to provide prescription drugs and sundries for the Hall County Correctional Institution and Hall County Detention Center.

Riverside Pharmacy of Gainesville is the recommended winner of the contract after it committed to providing additional discounts for prompt payment.

Initially, McElveen’s Pharmacy of Gainesville was recommended to receive the contract.

Finally, commissioners will also vote on whether Jennings Bryan can lease an auto sales lot on Browns Bridge Road to a new tenant.

The lot had been used for auto sales for many years until the economy closed the most recent business.
Two years have now passed since a dealership operated at the property, but Bryan said he believes the time is right for Infinity Auto Sales to move in.

The Hall County Board of Commissioners meets at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hall County Government Center, 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.
