Kevin Grubb, a 2005 graduate of Chestatee High School, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C. Grubb will report to Camp LeJeune, N.C., for Marine combat training before leaving for advanced training in Pensacola, Fla.He is the son of David and Eva Grubb of Gainesville.

Cpl. Kenneth Russell Cantrell, a U.S. Marine from Banks County, is serving his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. His first tour was in Iraq in 2006. He is married to Tiffany Marie Watkins Cantrell and they have twin sons, Isaac and Isaiah. If you would like to write to Cantrell, you may send correspondence to: Cpl.
