Children track a monster in a musical setting

Kids perform an original piece, 'Bugaboo,' next week

POSTED: June 5, 2014 1:00 a.m.

More than 40 children will don costumes and their character’s personalities to present the original musical “BUGABOO” this weekend at Gainesville High School.

Penned by Hall County native musical theater writers Isaac Hopkins and Noah Haines, “BUGABOO” tells the story of some bright and wily children who decide to go in search of the very monster they have always been warned about. It takes the help of some unlikely friends determination, and just a pinch of magic to find out the Bugaboo may not be exactly the monster the children thought it was.

Performances will be 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12, in Pam Ware Performing Arts Theatre at Gainesville High School, 830 Century Place, Gainesville.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors 65 and older and children between ages 2 and 18. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in the Gainesville Parks and Recreation office at the Gainesville Civic Center.

The production is part of the Pam Ware Children’s Musical Workshop.
