Gainesville’s Pascual a member of Ga. agency earning national award

Gainesville native Danielle Pascual was a member of the Georgia Department of Economic Development staff that has received the President’s “E Star” Award, the nation’s highest honor for excellence in providing export programs and services.

GDED is the first export service provider to ever receive a second “E Star” Award.

The department is one of only four organizations to receive the award for export service for 2014. The “E Star” award was presented Wednesday to the agency’s International Trade Division at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington.

“The President’s ‘E’ Award winners are fantastic American businesses and organizations that have played a crucial role in strengthening and growing our economy through increased U.S. exports,” Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker said. “Congratulations to the Georgia Department of Economic Development for its export achievement, which helps the local community, Georgia and the nation remain competitive in the global marketplace.”

Pascual serves as International Trade Promotions Manager at GDED, and works to promote Georgia businesses at international and domestic trade events.

“I am incredibly proud to work with an outstanding export program,” she said. “Georgia is setting the bar in terms of export service assistance and this national recognition only reinforces those efforts.”
