Northeast Ga. Health System honors employee of year, 50-year veteran

Payroll specialist Tammy Sullivan was named 2014 Employee of the Year by Northeast Georgia Health System.
Sullivan joined NGHS in 1995. She has two adult children and two grandchildren.

“As specialist in our payroll department, Tammy shares the enormous task of making sure every payday goes smoothly for our more than 5,000 employees,” said Carol Burrell, president and CEO of the health system. “We’re proud of how she demonstrates our organization’s core values and supports our mission of improving the health of our community in all we do.”

NGHS honored 703 employees for their tenure with the system, including Betty Toney, outpatient registrar, as the first to be recognized for 50 years of service. She took a job as a ward secretary with Hall County Hospital in November 1963.

“Betty’s loyalty to our organization is truly inspirational,” Burrell said. “We couldn’t be more honored to call her our own.”
